This site is designed to introduce you to our Church - its people and our programs and our goals and values.
We hope ourselves to be guided by God's Spirit, and hope that you may be as well -- even through our site.
But our real hope is that you may be able to worship with us and get to know us, and we you.
We are committed to extending our church life to the larger community and to the world through our actions and programs. We actively support causes around town and around the globe and hope that the world will grow smaller through our actions.
Scarborough Presbyterian Children’s Center is a non-denominational developmental pre-school for children ranging in age from 2 to 5 years old.
We are committed to helping children develop their physical, social, emotional, and intellectual capacities and to provide opportunities for success in this growth process. Our thematic curriculum units center around students needs and include discovery in art, music, drama, and literature. In addition, age appropriate readiness activities in reading, math, and science are offered.
The Sunday School meets each Sunday at various times, depending upon the age group.
Sunday school classes are also augmented with various fellowship and mission opportunities. Fellowship activities include book clubs and holiday parties. Mission efforts have included a morning "Midnight Run" and trips to New Orleans to help with the rebuilding effort.
We broaden and deepen our faith through fellowship and study. Our offerings include Bible study, religious history and theology courses, book clubs, spiritual groups, Potluck Dinner & A Movie Group and various lecture series.
Music is an integral part of our worship service. We are blessed with a terrific choir, a historic Odell pipe organ dating from 1895, and a sanctuary with wonderful acoustics in which to enjoy it.
The Scarborough Choir holds rehearsals Sunday mornings an hour before services. It is an ideal group for anyone who wants to sing, yet can't make it to mid-week rehearsals. New members in all voice ranges are always welcomed.
The Scarborough Junior Choir is a group of youngsters who sing once a month. Simple arrangements ranging from folk tunes to classical music are performed with the highlight of the year being the annual Scarborough Christmas Pageant.
